Our Story
Built on a connection to Jamaica — and a belief that things can be done differently.
Resilient Build Solutions was founded by cousins Joshua Shaw and Kierden Shaw, UK-born Jamaicans with deep family roots in the island and generations of experience across business, property and entrepreneurship.
Jamaica has been part of their lives since childhood. Regular time spent on the island, particularly in Montego Bay, created a connection that has remained central as they began thinking about where they wanted to invest, build and create something of their own.
Joshua brought experience in UK property investment and development, while Kierden brought a background in e-commerce, international sourcing and working directly with manufacturers in China. Together they began looking for a better response to recurring concerns in Jamaican construction: cost, speed, resilience and trust.
That search led them to modern methods of construction and ultimately to light gauge steel. RBS was created not simply to introduce another building system, but to develop and deliver projects differently, combining international capability with Jamaican expertise and execution.
LUMA Residences in Montego Bay is the first expression of that vision, and the beginning of a wider ambition to invest in and build for Jamaica.

LUMA RESIDENCES
A boutique residential development in Ironshore, Montego Bay.
LUMA Residences is the first flagship development within the RBS platform. A design-led collection of seven residences created around privacy, tropical living and contemporary architecture.
The scheme brings together three private-pool Garden Villas, three two-bedroom Townhouses and the retained ALTURA Penthouse, alongside landscaped communal areas, a residents’ pool, fitness space and controlled access.
Developed as both a standalone residential opportunity and a proof of concept for the wider RBS model, LUMA is intended to demonstrate how thoughtful design, modern construction methods and disciplined delivery can come together in Jamaica.

RBS uses modern methods of construction, including light gauge steel, because they can offer greater control over design, manufacturing quality, material use and delivery programme when properly coordinated with local engineering and execution.
Our projects are intended to be engineered for Category 5 hurricane-level wind conditions, with project-specific structural design and Jamaican engineering forming part of the approval and delivery process.
